Just Like A Hidden Treasure

People, especially in these times, are looking for something real. We are tired of seeing fake because the world is full of fakes.

There is a part of us that wants to seek a life that is in perfect harmony with others. There is a part of us that wants to witness genuine goodness, genuine peace, genuine unity….genuine righteousness.

We seek for a rest, a place of refuge. We seek for something that is real and genuine. There is nothing wrong with this. There is nothing wrong in seeking genuinely good things.

But as a genuine gold is hard to find, genuine goodness, the genuine truth, the genuine peace, the genuine harmony are also hard to find, just like a hidden treasure.

The real Christianity is also hard to find, but when one finds it, it is like a rare treasure that you will not exchange for anything.

When you discover real Christianity, we will see how it differs from other spiritual religions and denominations. In genuine Christianity, we will find what we are seeking for – goodness, peace, unity and harmony that are real.

A real Christian belongs only to Jesus and he loves Him with all of him. A real Christian does not belong to any denomination, or to any named church. A real Christian belongs only to Jesus, belongs only to the real church that Jesus built.

The real church is not inside a room or inside any building. The real church is outside, reaching out to souls. They are scattered around nations, doing their tasks faithfully and powerfully. They stay close to their first love, Jesus, their source of strength and power.

A real Christian will not say we have to be a member of this group to be saved. A real Christian will say whoever you are, God loves you and He wants to be your only God. He will meet you where you are. He will pursue you no matter what.

A real Christian is like a bride, set apart, different from the rest. While everybody feels that it is okay to lie for the good reasons, the real Christian will do his best not to lie and compromise with God’s words.

A real Christian is humble. He always gives credit to God to anything great that happened through him. A real Christian does not instate himself as someone higher above the people of God unless specifically told by God Himself. A real Christian is so meek, is so humble even if he was assigned to be a leader. A real Christian is a lowly servant of all.

But a real Christian is also a king and a warrior. He is strong, wise, and authoritative over things given under him (not over people). He runs with the wild horses, not with show horses who practice follow-the-leader.

A real Christian does not seek people for the word of God but Jesus Himself.

A real Christian genuinely (not lip service) loves one another – the most defining trait of a Christian. A real Christian looks straight at the dying soul and the wounded heart, not at the haughty flesh.

A genuine Christian will prove to you how real and alive is your God, how genuine is His love for you. The real Christian will tell you that God told him about you – that personal. Your secret sins or past sins God will reveal to a genuine Christian and through him, you will experience the love of God.

People are desperate for what is real. I am desperate for what is real!

But guess what, the real God has already revealed Himself. He is not hiding from us anymore! He, too, is desperate to reveal Himself to us.

It is us who cannot find Him because we are blinded by the philosophies and morals of this world.

No matter how hard we search, if we are blind-folded, we will never see the real God. We will never see the genuine goodness that we are seeking for. That is why the world is contented with the philosophies of dead men and women.

Quotes and sayings of great people are recorded and are easily found. People think they found what they are looking for on things that dead people said.

I do not say that what they say is wrong. It’s just that what they say is limiting. If we are looking for something genuine, let us look beyond to what man says. Man is imperfect. Our God is not!

When we choose to pattern our life on the philosophies of the world, we will not only be blinded but also hard-hearted. Whatever the world accepts as good, we will also accept as good. However, not everything that the world accepts as good is good in the eyes of God. No compromises with His words!

How will we now search for a genuine thing if our eyes are blind-folded by the proverbs of worldly men?

We think we know God? Check again. God, the only God, the genuine God, is also just like a hidden treasure. We have to seek Him diligently to find the real Him. But when we find Him, we will never regret it. We need to seek Him because as long as we are in this world, we cannot see Him fully yet.

And the world hates Christians because we do not practice what we preach. Some of the reasons the world hates God is because the world watches Christians who are not genuine. They stereotype – so typical of the world.

Sadly, the world is also full of fake Christians with fake gods.

But when one finds the genuine God and meets the genuine Christians and the genuine Church, a change is guaranteed in his life.

This is my dream – to be a genuine Christian by finding the genuine God. And when I have found the genuine God, people will see me and they will say “I want what you have.”

Father God,

Show me the real you. Show me your glory, Lord. Help me in my treasure hunt. Pour your Holy Spirit over me.

In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
